Hello, I’m Tracey – a counsellor, psychotherapist, EMDR and Hypno-CBT practitioner, and proud neurodivergent single parent. I’ve spent a lifetime feeling like “the outsider” in a neurotypical world. Growing up, I was often labelled “lazy” or “moody.” I learned early on that my brain simply worked differently. A late autism diagnosis and, later, ADHD finally gave me the keys to understand my impulsivity, chronic overwhelm, and my body’s fight-or-flight state.

Understanding Neurodivergence

These revelations transformed my own healing journey. They called me to look squarely at feelings of hurt, shame, anger, and even disgust. Now, these insights inform every aspect of my work at clearycounselling.co.uk with compassion and understanding.

My Journey

Here, I’ll be sharing posts that weave together:

  • My lived experience of sensory overwhelm, emotional dysregulation, and identity shifts.

  • Family stories of neurodiverse children whose strengths I’ve witnessed up close.

  • Through case studies—always anonymised—on navigating trauma, personality patterns, and relationship ruptures.

  • Practical tools drawn from IFS, EMDR, Hypno-CBT, DBT, and polyvagal-informed approaches.

Embracing Our Differences

Whether you’re exploring your own neurodivergence, supporting someone with a personality disorder, or looking to heal relational wounds, these reflections aim to demystify complexity. I want to offer clear, compassionate strategies that resonate with your experiences.

The Power of Connection

I invite you to journey with me—from understanding and acceptance to resilience and connection. Together, we can turn our greatest struggles into shared strengths.

Final Thoughts

In our journey, it’s essential to remember that we are not alone. Many of us share similar experiences and challenges. By connecting and sharing our stories, we can foster a sense of community and support.
